How do I apply for a provisional licence?
You need to either complete an application form D1 and photo card application form D750 (available from most post offices) or you can click here to apply online. You can apply for a provisional licence up to 3 months before your 17th birthday to be valid on your birthday.
Can I start driving lessons before I have passed my theory test?
You don't need to have passed your Theory Test in order to start driving lessons. All you need is your provisional licence.
How do I apply for a theory test?
You can book online by clicking here to visit the DSA web site or by phone on 0870 0101372. You will need your driver number from your provisional licence and a credit / debit card to pay.
Do you help with my Theory training?
Yes, Drive SG will provide you with Free access to the very latest online training material for your Theory and Hazard Perception tests.
When can I take my Practical Driving Test?
Once you have passed your Theory Test, you can then apply for your Driving Test. Your instructor will advise when you have achieved the required driving standard. You can book online with the DSA by clicking here.
How many lessons will I need?
Every learner is different. The DSA recommend that a 17 year old should require around 40 hours of professional tuition plus around 20 hours of private tuition. This depends on your ability to learn new skills, the frequency of driving lessons and if you have access to private tuition. Drive SG will tailor your training to drive your development at a pace suited to you.
How long is each lesson?
Lessons can be 1, 1.5 or 2 hours. Drive SG recommends 2 hour lessons as these offer the greatest scope for development.
Do you offer automatic lessons?
No, currently Drive SG can only provide manual lessons.
